General
Name: Aberforth Lancelot Ethelred Michael Dumbledore
Nicknames (and who is likely to use them): Abe (only his brother and good friends called him this)
Age: 154
Birthday: June 8, 1850
Place of Residence (an address in Hogsmeade unless something else has been decided with the mods) The Hog’s Head

Appearance
Height: 6' 4"
Weight: 180
Eyes: Grey
Hair Colour & Style: Grey, now cut short
Skin tone: a little pale from all the time he spends inside the pub
Build: Tall and thin
Distinguishing Marks: A thin pale scar across the inside of his left wrist where he once used a cutting curse on himself before thinking better of it and healing it. Long crooked nose that looks like it’s been broken at least as many times as his brother’s.
Dress Style: (remember that most wizards would wear robes, and that there is a war going on which might effect supplies) Slightly tattered robes that look a lot dirtier than they actually are. He does possess a number of better robes but no one would expect the barman of the Hog’s Head to dress well.
Things they would always carry with them (optional): Wand, Albus’ Put-Outer and watch
Other:

Health
Disabilities/Handicaps: None, he’s in pretty good health for his age
Health in general – both mental and physical: Has occasional bouts of depression since the death of his brother.
Other:

Personality
First Impression (others have of you): The first impression of Aberforth if you go to the Hog’s Head is of a strange, slightly grouchy man who is willing to either ignore you completely or listen and offer sage advice depending on what you want. Outside of his work Aberforth is still a fairly odd man, a lot like his brother but without the almost childlike pleasure Albus used to take in life.
General Behaviour: Aberforth is a bit of an odd duck. He is secretive and a bit grouchy with more than his fair share of odd quirks. He’s a good listener in spite of all of this and is always willing to lean against the bar, cleaning a glass and offering sage advice. He’s got his fingers in all sorts of shady business and likes to fly well below the radar. He has many contacts within the slightly shadier side of the wizarding world as well as the Muggle world. Not for him the life of respectability that his older brother, Albus, chose.

Despite that Aberforth always idolised his brother and willingly followed him into all sorts of situations over the years. His experiences in the fight against Grindelwald took a terrible toll on him and he drew away from his family for several years after that, travelling throughout Europe and learning many things from both Muggles and wizards and witches. It was Albus who found him, asking him to return. Aberforth only agreed if he didn’t have to do it openly. Albus agreed and Aberforth returned to buy and take over the running of the Hog’s Head in Hogsmeade.

He spent his time alternating between buying and selling items that he didn’t ask the providence of and keeping an ear open for Albus. His unfortunate experiment involving the goat led to public ridicule but Aberforth largely ignored that as it added to his reputation. The charm he performed was a colour change charm – he just wanted to know whether it was possible for it to work on an animate object. It was but the Ministry took a dim view of his idle experiment.

He acts as the Orders ears in the shadier parts of the wizarding world though he doesn’t actually go out looking for information. He merely listens carefully to those who come to his pub and passes on that information. He also acts as a fence and uses that role to obtain and get rid of magical items that should definitely not be kept around. Other items he’ll pass onto Minerva if he thinks they’ll be of use to her. Still others he’ll sell at a tidy profit.

He found the defeat of Voldemort by Harry Potter to be a bittersweet victory. He’d wanted Voldemort dead but never at the cost of his own brother. Albus’ death still weighs him down since he never expected to be the last of his family despite being the youngest of the siblings and he occasionally falls into depression. Nevertheless, he is grateful to Harry for what he did and views him as a remarkable young man who reminds him a great deal of Albus when he was younger. As such he will do almost anything Harry or Harry’s friends ask of him.

Strengths: He would count his stubbornness and tenacity as a strength though some would disagree
Weaknesses: He’s easily distracted at times and gets bored just as easily. That’s why he likes his ventures into the shady side of life – he has to pay attention. He’s also prone to occasional bouts of depression as he never expected to be the last of his family to survive.
Habits: He stares off into the air when he’s thinking which makes him look more than a little absent-minded
Enjoys: Good drink, good food, good companionship, goats
Dislikes: Death Eaters, broccoli, people who lie
Other:

Family
Spouse/partner (if applicable): None
Parents: Aiden and Mariah Dumbledore
Sibling(s): Albus (older by ten years), Amon, Amanda, Agnes. Aberforth is the youngest.
Children: None (that he knows of anyway)
Bloodline: Pureblood
Family History: Aberforth is the youngest of five siblings and the only survivor of his family. He grew up in a fairly ordinary family, his parents not being ones to indulge in the trappings of their pureblood heritage.
Pets: An barn owl named Tiberius
Other:
Aberforth was hit hard by his beloved brother’s death and struggled for some months afterwards. However, in spite of his occasional bouts of depression, he aided the Order when and as he could. He directed his hate towards Severus Snape and became slightly obssessed with finding and killing him until he was told the truth of what happened by Minerva in an attempt to not only redirect his anger but also to safeguard Snape. That was another shock and he almost didn’t want to believe it except it was such a typically Albus thing to do that he was eventually forced to accept it. He still doesn’t like Snape though and probably never will.

He was finally shaken out of his self-pity, anger and depression by Gilderoy Lockhart of all people. The flamboyant wizard had done a deal with Albus and after his death approached Aberforth to continue it. This piqued Aberforth’s interest and he found himself quite liking not only the idea but also the convoluted plan that it involved. He was reluctantly impressed by Gilderoy and agreed to act as his contact, passing on information to Minerva.

He viewed the death of Voldemort with a great deal of satisfaction and not a few quiet tears, toasting Harry Potter in his pub before joining some of the quieter celebrations. He felt his brother’s work had finally been completed and he has quite a soft spot for Harry in his heart. It was that which prompted him to obtain all of the items from Grimmauld Place that Mundungus Fletcher had sold to him and return them quietly to the house. He remembered Harry’s anger at Dung’s thefts and felt he owed the young man. He would do almost anything Harry asked of him.

The continued actions of the surviving Death Eaters over the next few years worried him and he kept his ear to the ground, passing on what he could to Minerva as he kept tending his pub. The continuing growing activity made that worry increase and Aberforth carefully consolidated everything he owned on a hunch that he was never able to adequately explain. Thus the attack on Diagon Alley and the destruction of Gringotts did not affect Aberforth as much as others.

He views the move of many in the wizarding world to Hogsmeade as both a good move and a dangerous one since he’s convinced that not all who live there are friendly and he worries about the possibility of Death Eater attacks from the inside. The continued presence of the Death Eaters offends him since it was that group that his brother spent so much time trying to destroy. Aberforth will do what he can to continue his brother’s work in his own small way.

Social/Romantic/Sexual
Close Friendships: Albus was probably his closest friend but these days he would consider Minerva, Harry and Gilderoy to be friends. He would look favourably on Harry’s friends if they approached him as well. He’s also rather fond of the Weasleys whether they know it or not – partly because he just likes them and partly because they remind him a little of his own family.
Known Enemies: Death Eaters, he knows about Snape’s role as a spy and why he killed Albus but he’ll never truly forgive the man.
Sexual Preference: Heterosexual
Turn Ons: Intelligence, a good sense of humour, an understanding that a man must have his quirks
Turn Offs: Intolerance, rudeness
Past Relationships: He’s had a few when he was younger but nothng overly serious. He never was able to find the right woman for him
What they think about sex and love The two can come separately or together and ideally Aberforth would like to find both but he’s an old man now and realises his time has probably come and gone.
Other:

Magical
Wand Type: Willow, 12", Unicorn hair
Magical talents: Charms, Transfiguration
Magical weaknesses/aversions (what your character can't or won't do): He’s not too good at Potions
First sign of magic – when and what: He turned Albus’ hair blue when he was four – his brother was teasing him and he inadvertantly retaliated. Albus thought it was very funny.
Boggart: Albus as an inferi
Knows how to Apparate (y/n): Yes
Knows how to cast a patronus (y/n – if yes what?): Yes, as long as he’s not in one of his depressed states. It’s a raven
Knows how to use the unforgivables (y/n): Yes but would not use them
Other:

Schooling:
Year: (in relation to Harry's year) 1861-1868 (a hell of a long time before Harry)
House: Ravenclaw
Other Affiliations:
Best subject(s): Charms, Transfiguration
Poor subject(s): Potions
Electives s/he would have taken: Arithmancy, Ancient Runes
Best Mates: He had a small group of good friends most of whom he’s outlived
Romantic interests: He had a few girlfriends though he’s sure no one would know them now.
Level of education reached (do your characters have OWLs/NEWTs – none of the above? Have they gone on to some type of training? Remember that there is no wizarding uni and that there is a war going on): He achieved both OWLs and NEWTs
Other:

Current Occupation: Owner and barman of the Hog’s Head in Hogsmeade
Other Occupations (side incomes, volunteer work, illegal activities): Acts as a fence, buying and selling anything people might have on hand
Monetary Situation: Contrary to appearances, Aberforth is very well off. He inherited from his parents and all of his siblings, inluding Albus. He paid attention to the undercurrents and removed the bulk of his fortune from Gringotts prior to the attack on Diagon Alley. Where it is now is somethng only he knows.
Other:

Current situation
Affiliations & Organisations: Order of the Phoenix
Faction this character supports: Minerva's faction
Role in the ongoing war: Gilderoy Lockhart’s contact, keeps an ear and an eye out for Minerva

Finally
What is your character's deepest, darkest secret (one that other game characters probably wouldn't know and that he/she would prefer they didn't find out about) Also list the names of anyone who might know, or might be suspicious of this knowledge:

He still has the goat he performed the inappropriate charm on – he’s rather fond of the old girl and since he turned her a rather lurid shade of purple and can’t figure out how to turn her back, he kind of feels responsible for her. He keeps her in a small yard out the back of the pub. He kind of appreciates the milk he gets from her as well – and the cheese he learnt to make from it. Anyone who’s peered into the back of the pub would likely see the goat but he doesn’t really care what they think about the fact that she’s there.

When he’s in the midst of one of his depression periods he strongly considers killing himself, to the point where he’s had his wand out and been ready to do it several times. It’s only the thought of Albus’ disapproval that stops him. Minerva might know of this.
